Good food....
We have friends staying from Scotland for a couple of weeks and we've been eating incredibly well.
Even though summer is over, we are still in plentiful supply of regional, seasonal goodies.
We've been nibbling on lucques olives, walnuts from our tree, clementines and cherry tomatoes, and each night we've been gorging ourselves with things like goat's cheese, apple tart and apple crumble, late season mackerel and sardines, and wild boar sausage.
On tonight's menu: toasted goat's cheese salad with walnuts and creamy mustard dressing, duck à l'orange with haricots verts and roasted potatoes and creme brulée.
The local Faugères wine goes really well with the duck, now I just need to find a white to go with the salad. I'm thinking a local Picpoul de Pinet might be perfect.....
