Adieu Guillaume Depardieu....

Guillaume Depardieu, the son of Gérard, died on Monday from pneumonia. He was 37.

An talented actor in his own right, he lived quite a volatile life trying to get out from under his dad's shadow. Following a motorcycle accident in 1995, his leg injury became infected and he eventually had his right leg amputated. He spent some time in prison for threatening a guy with a gun, and had a rather public bad relationship with his father, although they did appear together in a few films, like Tous les Matins du Monde, Les Miserables, and the Comte de Monte Cristo.

This year he gained favorable attention for his role in Versailles, a film about a homeless man living in the woods surrounding the palace. Apparently he was well on his way to being considered one of the best French actors of his generation.
