Postal strike....
We had a postal strike this week in France, nothing too crazy, just one day of interrupted mail.
The following is a conversation I had with my 6-year old:
little lady: Have you checked the post today, maman?
moi: No, there isn't any today, the postal workers are 'en grève'.
little lady: What does 'en grève' mean? (You'd think she'd know this by now, considering how often her teachers 'font la greve'...)
moi: It means they aren't happy, so they aren't working. (Simplified answers work best for me at 8.20 in the morning.)
little lady: Why aren't they happy? Have they been asked to do something they don't want to do? Or are they just tired?
moi: Bit of both, I guess.....

Hi there, Just found your blog via another that I read. Looks interesting and I think I shall enjoy reading it! We are on the hunt for our eventual home, which may end up being France ... so I'm reading lots of people's thoughts on living there - good, bad and indifferent!
Hope you'll pop by our blogs some time.
Alice
