Mozart l'Opera Rock
The first single of the album for the new musical Mozart l'Opera Rock (which premieres next September) has just come out, going straight in at number 1 on the French charts. It's sung by an Italian, Mikelangelo Loconte, who will play Mozart in the musical.
Apparently, the musical will feature more than 50 singers, actors, and dancers, cover several musica genres like classical, opera and rock, and the scenes will include period costumes, ballet dancers and electric guitars. Sounds like chaos. But the French are usually pretty good at organizing chaos, so should be interesting.
Anyway, here's a taste of what the musical will be like. Not a bad song to have in my head on a bleak and rainy winter's day...

Cute, a goth version of Amadeus. This hooks right in with the "Twilight" mania.
Loconte has a good voice. If he gets people listening to the real Mozart, that'd be great.
Wow, this looks so "chuette" (sp? for cool en FR?) Can't wait to hear more...wish we could go to France to see it! Is it a stage production or a movie?
is it a play or a movie because it would be great as a movie love the song
It's being billed as a 'spectacle musical', so it's a stage production, musical theatre, whatever you call it. But I agree, looks good on film too, I'm sure at some point it will go to screen.
J'aime la grande voix de Mikelangelo Loconte que je dois obtenir les chansons :)
this looks so fantastic that we love the songs and what we can see of clips here in Australia my one wish would be to see this on stage so i wish they do film the stage show and put it on DVD if they don't tour here. I am now learning french as it is a beautiful language and can now sing some in french because I saw one song on the mcm fr Chanel we have here and thought it was one of the most beautiful songs Ive heard even though i didn't understand one word of it even after translation it was good words cheers from Australia
