The icing on the gâteaux...

Of the 300 days of sunshine we normally get here on the Mediterranean, I guess today isn't going to be one of them. The little ladies are happy of course, but it's funny to see the snow through their eyes. They aren't quite sure what to do with it. The littlest lady got some snow on her glove and she looked at me and asked me what she should do with it.

I have to stop myself from saying, 'When I was your age, we had to walk a mile to school in a blizzard.' It's strange to think snow is a source of wonderment for them. The oldest little lady says she likes to taste the snow straight from the sky. I had to explain to them why one doesn't eat yellow snow.

I think it has only snowed about 3 times in the 9 years we've lived here. Makes a change from my childhood in South Dakota. The roads look like an ice rink. I've driven on the roads with French people who have never seen snow before. It's not pretty. So I think today would be a good day not to use the car...

You are funny! We've had a ton of snow here in the Loiret. Thinking of people who drive badly or not at all in the snow; I met a woman at the boulangerie who hadn't driven since Monday! The roads are absolutely clear.
Keep warm and enjoy the winter.

I'm with you, I see snow and just think shovelling, bad backs and nightmare journeys to work. It must be wonderful to experience it was younger eyes.
