Clubbing for oldies...

I found a cool site today, thanks to an article in Le Monde, Soirée clubbing en pantoufles. The site is called Awdio and it's a French run site that exists to bring to you, wherever you are, the best club music and live music that is being played around the world, direct from the venue.

So now you can dance around in your pyjamas to the music being broadcast live from the likes of Hôtel Costes in Paris, or sit on the sofa with a glass of sangria and listen to live Samba music from Sao Paolo. The broadcasts come from the hottest clubs and venues from around the world, from Shanghai,Sydney, and Berlin, to Mumbai, NYC and Rome. The best DJs, the coolest independent record shops, the trendiest clubs, all their music, live and free, direct into your home.

Imagine, no need to dress to impress the doorman, or queue to pay for expensive drinks. No smarmy men trying to hit on you or spilling their drink on you. You can turn the sound down if you want to talk to someone, you know the toilets will be empty and clean, you don't have to worry about where to put your bag and there's no need to worry about who's driving home afterward. And best of all, it's free.

Sounds perfect for someone like me, caught between the it-can-never-be-too-loud-or-too-late period of my life and the just-want-my-pipe-and-slippers-and-a-good-book-on-the-sofa stage. It also means there will never be a need to go to our local village bôite (and I do mean 'local') ever again, or feel sad that I never quite made it to Ibizia. After all, I'm not 18 anymore, and let's face it, being in an actual club, at night, instead of at home in your pajamas, over the age of, say, 22, just isn't really a good idea, is it?

We could have a pyjama night in next time we're over :), although I do fancy yrevisiting my it-can-never-be-toothe idea of revisiting my it-can-never-betoo--loud-or-too-late period again, just for one night...
