Tête de linotte....

Should I be worried that my 4-year old's teacher tells her she has une tête de linotte? This roughly translates to 'you are a bird-brain', or 'are you not paying attention, you silly little fool?'.

I only learned this when saying to the Duke that I'd learned a new phrase avoir une tête de linotte, and she piped up and said 'my teacher says that to me'.

Hmmmm, I'm sure I've said worse than that to her, and of course she laughs and thinks it's funny that her teacher tells her she has a pea-sized brain. It just goes to show that already the little ladies have a better grasp of the language than I do, with their gros mots and colloquial phrases. I'm sure it won't be long before they are telling me I'm a bird-brain...
