I can barely understand what the student is saying because of her accent (in French and in English!)
It's her strong Essex accent!
The actresses are very good, but I don't find it funny - as you say, there is a sad thing; perhaps it comes too close to the "glorification of ignorance" and the acceptance of rudeness. Boy, am I getting to be an old fuddy duddy!
