When you want something done......

Perfect example of asking a busy person to do something.
Today, not only have I beat my self-imposed word count for the day for NaNoWriMo but I've had a workout, stripped some wallpaper, changed and washed all the little ladies' bedding, written some work emails and sent a newborn baby gift to the States, I've also found time to come nudge my poor neglected blog.

And on the days when I have nothing I have to do, I do just that. And I hate that. I feel so useless on days where I do nothing. So I guess the answer is to try to do something as insane as writing a novel in 30 days. That'll put the spur in your butt every time.....

Well, we'll see how gung ho I am after next weekend when I need to have a word count of around 20.000. Yikes! But I'm off to Paris next week for 4 glorious days of me, me, me time. Top of the agenda is writing, then eating, maybe a bit of shopping and definitely some bookshop browsing. Can't wait!

Sorry, I realize I haven't finished my meme from the last post, still working on that one... I doubt any of you are waiting with bated breath, but if you are, let it out now.

Just wanted to share with you a fabulous new restaurant we tried for the Duke's birthday, La Compagnie des Comptoirs in Beziers, in association with the Pourcel brothers. Great atmosphere, the most amazing starter I've had in a long time, Créme Brulée de Foie Gras, and a menu full of delicious things that make you want to go back again and again. We also had a superb wine which was I think called 'Le Mas d'Ecriture', which was around 34 euros. Okay, let's be honest, we had 3 bottles, between 4 of us, but I would heartily recommend it, very smooth.

All in all, a great night out, except for one small detail- This is a French restaurant that offers absolutely no cheese on the menu, I repeat..... NO CHEESE ON THE MENU. What the hell?

Dear Messieurs Pourcel,
I know you know a little bit more than I do about running a top class restaurant, but please, for the love of God, bring back the cheese! Honestly, you call yourselves 'Leading Ambassadors of Fine French Food'? That would be like calling myself an American food diplomat and not having peanut butter on the friggin' menu!
Please sort this out. Thank you very much.....
Sincerely,
Moi

I've always wanted to go to Le Jardin des Sens...but maybe this restaurant in Beziers is more affordable?

I've not eaten at the Jardin des Sens either, but I would this one would be cheaper. I think the menu was around 26 or 29 or so, and the wine, alot of which is vin de pays, wasn't too badly price. At any rate, I'd really recommend it!
